Body Modification

(Isn't this picture just revolting? Hahahaha? If I look at it too long I start gagging!)

I'm talking about tattoos...piercings...that sort of thing.

What do YOU think about body modification? Are you for it? Against it? Do you have any tattoos or piercings?

I got my first tattoo in May by Bart Willis at Southside Tattoo. Hells, yeah! Check out his website--the guy is fucking good!

Getting tattooed for the first time was pretty cool--but it hurt! I've wanted one since I was 16.

I also have piercings (7 to be exact) in my ears that I'm going to start stretching. I don't want to do anything crazy like 00 gauge--I'm going 14 gauge max! I'll do another post on that. I bought tapers and a host of other cool earrings to show you once I stretch out my ears. I'm at 20-18 gauge in most of my holes--I'm going to go straight from 20ga to 14ga, so we'll see how that goes.

I don't think I'm for or against it. If i had the courage I'd probably get a tattoo of the drama faces since I love the arts, but I'm too chicken. I don't mind people with piercings or tattoos.

As I have some tattoos of my own, I'm not against body mods, although I do think there's a limit beyond which it becomes kind of strange, but generally, I say to each his/her own. The above picture does venture into that "strange" territory (I think it kind of screams "As GAWD is my witness, I shall never hold a 9-to-5 job!" lol) but I believe every adult should have the right to do what they please to their body, no matter how strangely people like me look at them. :)

Well said, Anthony.

I think tattoos and piercings are a way to express yourself. For me, it's a form of empowerment. There are few things in life we have complete control over, but our bodies we can change, mold, and decorate as we please.

Now that my ears have healed, I can't wait to start wearing cool jewelry from Tawapa and Maya Organics! Huzzah!
