Back to school

Hurray! I'm so happy to be back in college! Student loans and indefinite unemployment are soooooo what I'm looking forward to after I graduate!

Everyone always says that college is the best time of your life but they are WRONG! I hate college! It's one bullshit class after the next and none of them are the classes you want to take. And at any moment your college can do what mine is doing and change the curriculum on you on your SENIOR YEAR so they can force you into taking more hours! Yay! More of my money down the shit hole! Then they charge you over and over again for books you're never going to use and for parking decals that cost over $200 (commuters like ME don't get discounts, joy!) On a college campus there's constant noise, kids, and traffic...

School starts up on the 26th. Can't you see the grin on my face? Ugh. Excuse me while I swallow bleach.

Ref:...change the curriculum on you...

Um...you might want to talk to the Dean. My uni tried this (many years ago) and changed the curriculum in my senior year, adding some classes I did not want to take, or pay for. It turned out, he could not force me to take them.

My curriculum catalog specifically stated I was only obligated to the courses from the curriculum I started with. Now if I had left and returned to school, I would have been stuck with the latest curriculum, but since they changed it midstream, I could carry on with the original curriculum.

Different universities may have different rules, but this loophole saved my bacon.

Search through the book and see if it's in there. It doesn't hurt to ask. Good luck.

Thanks guys! Haha, Redd...good idea to hide the bleach!

Maria, I had a word with my college advisor and she assured me that because I started with the old curriculum I could finish with it. However, if I hadn't said anything (and I'm sure many students won't) I'd have to do a mandatory minor in something and push my graduation date back a full year.

I'll just be so happy when I'm finally done and I have my diploma in my hand!

That isn't right to change the curriculum on you at that late date ... you should be "grandfathered" in. That is BS!!!

And I took more useless classes in college ... I think I took exactly three classes that served me well later on.
